Aidan Chiles praised Chip Kelly’s influence as Northwestern’s quarterback competition remains open. Chiles said Kelly knows what is happening before, during and after each play, and that the steady feedback has helped him during camp. Kelly is evaluating Chiles, Ryan Boe and Nicco Marchiol without rushing to name a starter. Chiles played in nine games and started eight for Michigan State in 2025 before a foot injury ended his season. He completed 63.1% of his passes for 1,392 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions, while adding 227 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. He has looked like one of Northwestern’s leading candidates.
