College GameDay will take its Sept. 26 show to undefeated Texas-Tennessee, choosing the noon ET matchup over 3-0 Georgia’s 3:30 p.m. home game against Oklahoma.
The Texas-Tennessee game pairs two 3-0 teams. Texas opened the season as the No. 1 team in both major preseason polls and has already beaten Ohio State 24-23; Tennessee began No. 14 in the AP poll and has won its first three games by at least 21 points.
The choice makes Texas-Tennessee the showcase game and leaves Georgia without the home GameDay appearance its Oklahoma matchup once seemed likely to earn. Oklahoma fell to 2-1 with a 17-10 loss at Michigan and has struggled on offense, while Georgia is 3-0 and favored by two touchdowns.
GameDay passed on Oklahoma-Georgia along with Texas A&M-LSU, Ole Miss-Florida, Oregon-USC, Iowa-Michigan and Missouri-Mississippi State.
Josh Pate’s preseason bracket placed Georgia No. 1 and Texas No. 5, giving one projected playoff team the larger national stage while Georgia’s Athens game is passed over. Georgia’s best remaining chance to get GameDay comes Oct. 10 at Alabama, though the show has not announced whether it will attend. Missouri was the only other ranked team scheduled to play at Georgia, according to the report.

The real loss for Georgia is geographic. An Oct. 10 GameDay stop at Alabama would put the Bulldogs back on the show, but it would not replace the Athens date lost Sept. 26. Missouri is the only other currently ranked team scheduled to visit Georgia, leaving no second confirmed home matchup with the same résumé hook.
September results also reversed the comparison. Georgia and Oklahoma went a combined 22-5 in 2025, better than Texas and Tennessee’s combined 18-8, but Oklahoma followed its 51-0 opener with 10 points at Michigan and 14 against New Mexico. Texas beat Ohio State 24-23, while Tennessee’s three victories came by at least 21 points. GameDay rewarded the cleaner 3-0-versus-3-0 pitch over the stronger combined 2025 records.

GameDay has not announced that stop, and the calendar offers a direct competing storyline: Texas visits Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 10.
