Olivia Reiner of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson was injured on the opening kickoff against the New England Patriots. Jackson went low in an attempt to make a tackle and didn’t get up after the play. He lay motionless briefly as teammates motioned for medical help. Personnel attended to him, stabilized him and brought out a backboard. An ambulance then helped remove Jackson from the field. Nearly the entire Philadelphia team came onto the field as he was taken away. The delay lasted several minutes. No diagnosis, condition update or return timetable has been announced. The report doesn’t establish why Jackson was assigned to that kickoff unit.
