Florida’s bowl projection lands it against South Florida in the Cure Bowl

What Happened

Florida is projected to face South Florida in the Cure Bowl this winter, a postseason matchup that would place the Gators in the same bowl as an in-state program. The projection follows Florida’s 4-8 finish last season and comes during Jon Sumrall’s first season as head coach. Sumrall said this spring that making a bowl game was a goal. Florida returns substantial talent but enters the season with questions at quarterback, along the offensive line, and in the secondary. The Gators are scheduled to visit Auburn on Sept. 19 before hosting No. 9 Ole Miss on Sept. 26.

Auburn is the first test of that structure. Ole Miss is the sharper measuring point.
