The widest range may belong to Alabama. Russell is a sophomore getting his first opportunity as the starting quarterback, and the Crimson Tide's October run includes Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee and LSU. That stretch can expose an offense before it has settled into its new job. LSU carries a different uncertainty. Leavitt is returning from a season-ending injury and must approach his 2024 form for the Tigers to match the talent around him. Tennessee has three major SEC home games against Texas, Alabama and LSU, giving Brandon a setting in which the supporting cast can help him early.
