Kirk Ferentz addressed Iowa’s unresolved position battles after practice Wednesday, with fall camp nearly complete. He discussed the competition between Jeremy Hecklinski and Hank Brown for the starting quarterback job, including whether both could play in Week 1. Ferentz also confirmed that Iowa has selected a starting center who was not the expected choice. The kicker and punter positions remain open heading into the home opener against Northern Illinois. Ferentz additionally discussed the performance of several veteran players and praised them.
