Mississippi State beat South Carolina 41–34 on Saturday, Sept. 19, staying unbeaten at 3–0 while the Gamecocks fell to 2–1 after an “atrocious” third quarter helped decide the road game, On3 reported.
South Carolina had opened 2–0, but its next assignment is a visit to Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 26. Both teams went 1–7 in SEC play last season, giving Mississippi State’s start more weight and leaving South Carolina little room for another flat quarter.
