Tennessee · SECNeyland Stadium Gets New Sound System, Champions Corner Plaza For Furman Opener
Tennessee announced the upgrades Aug. 28, with walk-through concessions markets and a videoboard first-down line due by the Sept. 19 Kennesaw State game.

Tennessee replaced Neyland Stadium's south-end speaker stacks with larger boxes containing hundreds of drivers operating as a single source. The system from Danley Sound Labs, Stellar Vision and Sound and Precision Audio has 15 subwoofers, 11 full-range loudspeakers and 27 compact outdoor speakers powered by more than a half-million watts. Neyland previously had no subwoofers.
Near the elevators on the south end's third-level concourse, Tennessee widened the walkway, replaced an outdated restroom with 12 fixtures, added eight water bottle fillers and installed more televisions. Champions Corner is the centerpiece of the plaza outside Gate 9 on Neyland's southwest side. The Gen. Robert Neyland statue has returned after its temporary relocation; Doug Dickey and Phillip Fulmer statues are due later this season.
Walk-through markets and a videoboard first-and-10 yellow line are scheduled by the Sept. 19 Kennesaw State game. Tennessee did not disclose the cost or whether every project will be ready for Furman on Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
