North Carolina secured its second commitment in the 2028 class Wednesday when right-handed pitcher Duncan Carver announced his decision to join the Diamond Heels. Carver is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect from Fairview, North Carolina, who attends A.C. Reynolds High School and plays travel baseball for the South Charlotte Panthers. He went 9-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 2025, earning Western North Carolina First Team honors from the Asheville Citizen Times. Carver works with a low-90s fastball, an upper-70s slider, and a fading changeup. He joins infielder Tyler Jackson, North Carolina's first commitment of the cycle, and is the class's first pitcher.
