Notre Dame named its four captains for 2026 on Friday, days before the No. 4 Irish open the season against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field: Bowen, Carr, Faison and Shuler.
Bowen and Shuler earned the nod for the second time, Carr for the first. Faison's path stands apart from the rest — a former walk-on and lacrosse player now wearing a captain's patch for Notre Dame football.
Notre Dame did not say how the four were chosen or whether they'll hold the title all season. The Irish, coming off a 10-2 finish and ranked No. 4 in the AP poll, kick off Sunday, Sept. 6, against Wisconsin at 7:30 p.m. ET in Green Bay.
