A report on Oklahoma quarterback Hawkins Jr.’s experience does not establish that he has transferred to West Virginia, will join the Mountaineers’ roster or compete in the Sept. 5 opener against Coastal Carolina.

Hawkins, entering his redshirt sophomore season, has appeared in nine games and made five starts over two Oklahoma seasons. In his lone 2025 start, against Kent State, he completed 14 of 24 passes for 162 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a 44-0 win.
