Hayward Howard Sr., the father of Texas freshman defensive back Hayward Howard Jr., posted on X on Aug. 22 that he was disappointed with the program and threatened to expose what he called political games. The post followed Texas’ second major closed scrimmage of fall camp. Howard Jr. reportedly did not take snaps with the starting units during that practice. The younger Howard is a four-star cornerback from Edna Karr in New Orleans. He recorded multiple pass breakups in Texas’ spring game. Texas has not announced a response to the post, and no change to Howard’s status has been reported.
