Utah tight end Semi Taulanga is preparing for a larger role in the rhino position, a hybrid spot introduced by the Utes in 2025. Taulanga originally joined Utah as a defensive tackle before moving to tight end last season. He said this week that he hopes to see more opportunities isolated against defensive backs. Utah also announced August 23 that Taulanga will lead the team’s Utah Mili before games during the 2026 season. Taulanga said his personal goal is at least four touchdowns. Sione Motuapuaka is another rhino on the roster, while Taulanga described his relationship with running back Wayshawn Parker as important to their blocking work together.
