Deion Sanders was ordered to appear virtually Friday, Sept. 4, at 1:30 p.m. MT in a civil case involving his son Shilo. Colorado opens the 2026 season Sept. 3 at Georgia Tech.
Sanders' attorney, Harvey Steinberg, said Deion would testify only if Shilo's lawyers introduce testimony from an earlier case. Steinberg does not expect them to do so.
The trial involves an attempt to erase an $11.89 million civil judgment from a personal-injury case connected to a 2015 altercation at Shilo's school. The legal issue is whether the injuries were "willful and malicious."
