DePaul has signed a men’s basketball jersey-patch sponsorship with Desert Cactus, a Rolling Meadows, Illinois, licensing company. The agreement is the Big East’s only announced men’s basketball patch deal; Marquette has not announced one.

Desert Cactus plans to use DePaul as a merchandising test bed for products, packaging and pricing. “Essentially, this is one giant focus group for us,” Stefani said.

The company also plans to offer paid internships to DePaul students for graphic- and product-design projects. Stefani said student work with HBCU partner Jackson State helped produce some of the company’s best-selling products.
