Marcel Reed’s strong Texas A&M practice creates a clearer quarterback baseline
Reed looked sharp on deep throws, sideline timing and competitive-period decisions for most of Texas A&M’s 14th preseason practice. The late dip keeps the evaluation unfinished, especially after he appeared to take more chances while the Aggies simulated a two-minute situation.

Marcel Reed reportedly opened Texas A&M’s 14th preseason practice with his best stretch of camp. He connected on several throws of 20-plus yards during 11-on-11 work, including a sideline pass to Isaiah Horton against tight coverage. Reed also found Mario Craver for a 40-plus-yard completion in seven-on-seven action after a pump fake. His timing on sideline throws stood out, and he anticipated two completions to TK Norman between 10 and 15 yards. Reed finished less cleanly over the final portion of practice. He appeared to take more chances while Texas A&M simulated a two-minute situation, which added context to the uneven ending.
