An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 8 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, in Jerry Sandusky’s bid for a new trial.

A June 30, 2025, affidavit from Victim 10 alleges prosecutors repeatedly misled him before Sandusky’s 2012 trial. The accuser wrote that during a pretrial meeting lasting around six hours, he was encouraged to affirm abuse details he did not clearly remember. He identified former lead prosecutor Joe McGettigan, who died in December, as influencing his testimony.

Sandusky’s defense said Victim 10’s estranged wife would testify that he initially denied abuse. Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office prosecutors called her proposed testimony irrelevant and inadmissible.

Sandusky was convicted on 45 child sexual-abuse counts in 2012 and sentenced to 30–60 years.
