South Carolina officially scheduled Bowling Green for Aug. 26, 2028, at Williams-Brice Stadium, setting up the earliest home season opener in stadium history — and a report says the 2027 opener against Furman has been moved up a week as well.

The Bowling Green game completes South Carolina's 2028 nonconference schedule, joining Wofford and Clemson. The Gamecocks and Falcons have never met on the field.

The reported Furman shift, from Sept. 4 to Aug. 28, 2027, has not been officially confirmed by South Carolina. The Gamecocks beat Furman 47-21 the last time they played, in 2023.

Kickoff time and TV details for the 2028 opener have not been set.
