Tennessee Completes Neyland Sound System, Sets Yellow-Line Debut

Tennessee completed a new Neyland Stadium sound system earlier this week, replacing the speakers beside the south end zone videoboard. It is the first offseason since athletics director Danny White arrived without a major stadium construction project.

Videoboards will add first-down yellow-line technology for the Sept. 19 home game against Kennesaw State. New third-level walkthrough concession markets, like those in the north end, are also planned before that game. Tennessee has not said whether the concourse and concession work will be ready for the Sept. 5 opener against Furman.

Tennessee is revising game-day traffic after a year of study and testing during a country-music concert and a Savannah Bananas appearance. There are now three westbound lanes on Neyland Drive. Costs for the upgrades were not disclosed.
