Auburn receiver Nate Nimrod is mentoring freshmen Deshawn Spencer and Brian Williams Jr. as the Tigers prepare to open the 2026 season against Baylor on Sept. 5 in Atlanta.

Spencer and Williams have generated excitement in fall camp and are expected to have significant offensive roles. Nimrod, one of the oldest players in Auburn’s receiver room and in his final college season, previously played for Alex Golesh and Kodi Burns at South Florida.

Nimrod said Spencer is “one of the most natural football players I've been around” and praised his route running. He said experience, not talent, is Spencer’s primary hurdle entering SEC play.
